Couples trips can face many challenges along the journey. Whether you both decide on going on a trip abroad or opt to look for local experiences, the main goal is to bring your relationship to whole new level, pulling both of you closer to each other and strengthening the bond through new experiences during the travel. To keep the fun in and the negativity away from your vacay together, we’ve got some tips you might want to take note on if you’re planning to travel with your other half.
Gather all the documents needed during your travels and have one of you take charge of it. You can store them in a clear envelope pouch for easy access and storage saver. If you’re heading overseas, make sure to make a photocopy of all our important documents like passports, visas, flight tickets, transportation documents and others. The copies act as backups in case the real deal gets lost. Separate the copies and the original from each other.
2. Pack the Necessities
Knowing us girls, we do tend to pack a tad bit too much when traveling no matter how long the stay is, guys too. You don’t need to bring your whole closet for your vacay. Just bring the basic essentials as this will probably more of an adventures trip than a honeymoon! So it’s time to get back to the basics with staple pieces like t-shirts (light and dark), denim shorts, comfy pants, sweater (if it gets chilly) and sneakers.
3. Zero Commotion
Traveling together as a couple might seem like those #goals moments especially for those who’ve been together for awhile. But just take note, even during your travels both of you need to control your behaviour. Come with the idea that this is the time for you to bond and enjoy your trip together. You don’t want to have any misunderstanding or quarrels which can invite negative vibes to your relationship. You both probably have different needs but to make sure it’s a win-win situation, planning is needed for a smooth sailing trip!
4. Try New Things
During your travels, you’ll also be able to create new memories together. Take this opportunity to try out new experiences together whether it’s food, recreational activities or experiencing different cultures. Don’t be afraid to try new things, you’ll be able to have a better bonding session and unlock new perspective in your relationship.
5. Alone Time
You both came on vacay together but that doesn’t mean you need to be with each other 24/7. Make time for yourself to explore the new sights and experiences alone too. For example, if you want to go shop, you don’t have to drag your partner with you. Let them do what they want whether it’s taking shots of the city or spending time in the gym. This way you both still have some freedom to do things on your own.
Guys, take this opportunity to jump on the bandwagon of surprises! Plan a sweet surprise for your other half ideally on the last day of your trip for that unexpected twist for your trip. Be creative and carefully plan out your ideas so he/she will be blown away and speechlessly amaze for the wonderful thought. For the men, this is would be a good time for you to get down on one knee *wink wink*.
